A few months back, I hired a freelancer on Freelancer.com After wasting time, the task wasn’t completed, so I canceled the second milestone. Instead of a clear resolution, the platform released the payment to the freelancer.
I tried contacting support—useless as always. Multiple tickets closed without resolution.
After 2 months, I finally got a live chat agent, only to hear: "The freelancer withdrew the money. We can’t help."
Fast forward to today—I logged in to assign a new task, saw a job post, placed a bid, and the client replied. I asked for a quick call to discuss details (normal in any professional work). Guess what? Freelancer.com restricted my account for "asking for a call."
WTF?
- No customer support – Just automated replies and closed tickets.
- No fraud protection – Freelancers can take money and run.
- No common sense – Discussing work on a call is now a violation?
This platform is full of spammy, low-paid projects, has zero real traffic, broken tech, and absolutely no shame.
